Forgiveness

many think of life like a pen,

permanent, dark, stuck on us forever—

mistakes that can’t be changed.

but life, is truly like a pencil,

it is flexible, kind, forgiving,

we are able to make mistakes and

have those mistakes make us more human,

we are able to apoligze to those we hurt,

and accept apologizes from those who hurt us.

we are able to create art, solve math equations,

connect with communities,

as long as we are willing to write our own story.
